Q: What is your reaction today when you listen to the nine songs on “Walkin on the Water”?

Chris Day:

“Oh, “Walkin’ on the Water.” Well, every time I hear it, I have a flood of memories of about probably the greatest period of my life. I got to quit my job. I started making money every week. CASH! for playing guitar in a band. The first thing we were doing was making this record at a really cool place called Studio 4. It was totally happening! It was like a dream come true for that whole three months. We were in the studio and I was putting down parts. If you look back, you can see your own limitations when you look at your early work. I would think anyone in the band would have that response. But, it is a great memory. It is FUN to listen to it. It fills my mind with images of that period and things I was doing. Getting to know the guys and playing. It was great! It is not purely a musical effect on me. It has a resonance with my memory.”

Q: What was the initial fan reaction when you and Rob Miller joined the Young Rumblers?

Chris Day:

“They hated us! No, I am only kidding. I played about ten or fifteen shows on guitar as the four-piece Young Rumblers. We were rehearsing with Rob Miller, trying to get the band ready as a five-piece. I guess the fans sort of got used to me. I was just a guitar player, it was not a big deal. It was not so dramatic. Everyone was nice to me. People don’t say to your face if they hate you. I never knew directly.”
